Master Science Education
Between my two years in the Industrial Design master program, I completed the master Science Education, driven by my vision of taking a communicative role in explaining technology to users. This program enhanced my interest in educational innovation and significantly improved my communication skills, aligning with my aspiration to become a communicative designer. The teaching experience also significantly shaped the development of my vision.
Teaching revealed a widespread lack of digital literacy among students, specifically a critical attitude toward technology use and adoption. Despite frequent use, students often lack understanding of how technologies work and their broader societal implications. Especially regarding social media, where consequences of personalization and filter bubbles hindered meaningful and substantial discussions, underscoring the urgent need for education on these issues.
This year in education reshaped my PIV, focusing on developing myself as an educational designer addressing the lack of digital literacy in students, particularly around social media, which later evolved into a specialization in enhancing algorithmic literacy.
